Hi there, I’m a little behind on episodes but I have been thinking about this episode for many years and your comments that Fear, as in The Clown, is a being. I dispute this:

Fear, generally, is personal. It also tends to tap into one’s insecurities. So it would make sense that when Fear demands that It has a right to exist it is demanding this of Voyager’s crew, which already has an incorporeal crew member, so their minds are running along those lines already. You could arge also that such a statement is meant to trip up people who watch the show as well; sew doubt in the audience that Fear may win the logic battle because is tried to demonstrate that it is just like other characters on the show.
